A Bit of Leeds History – Leeds Theatre News of 1940

Leeds Trails and Tours Downtown Walking Tour Celebrating the City of Leeds in the year 1940 on Saturday, April 13 will make a stop at Threads on the Parkway at 8122 Parkway Drive. The Threads’ building was formerly Asman’s and before that time, it was the Leeds Theatre.

Re-enactors will be at this location on the day of the tour to enhance the walkers’ experience when “walking the story of our past”. The historical characters to be portrayed will be Harry “The Hat” Walker (St. Louis Cardinals) and his wife Dot (Fulmer) Walker, who was his girlfriend/fiancée in 1940.  Dot worked in the ticket office at the theater. Our reenactors will portray the two of them talking/flirting while Dot is working there.
